Stitch the Rainbow

It’s the original pride flag! The 8 stripe rainbow flag was designed by Gilbert Baker in 1978 at the behest of activist Harvey Milk. This unusual piece of pride art includes a wide variety of stitches and textures, as well as subtle changes of color within each stripe.

Materials include silk floss, hand-dyed cotton floss, rayon ribbon, and sparkly metallic braid. Design size approximately 6” x 10”. Stitch design taken from “Carnival” by Needle Delights Originals. Color design and execution by On Point Creations.
